The Alcazaba is very special. This Arabic fortress lies on the slope of the Gibralfaro mountain and was built in the ninth century. Inside you will find small patios, gardens and many passages with arches in Moorish style. Opposite the fort is an old amphitheatre.

Just keep on climbing from the fortress and you are on top of the mountain. If you don't feel up to this rather tough walk, there are also taxis. From here you have a fantastic view over Malaga. There is also a cosy café where they serve coffee and delicious carrot cake

This is the fishing district of Malaga and definitely worth a look. Here you eat charcoal- grilled sardines prepared on the beach in wooden boats.

Also called the Instagram neighbourhood of Malaga. Here you will find metre-high murals by young artists, as well as hip shops and unusual cafés. In 2000 this was still a deprived area!
